NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Cedrick L. Marshall pled guilty Tuesday, Sept. 9 for a drunk driving crash that left an Edna Karr student in a vegetative state.
According to the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office, Marshall was convicted for first degree vehicular negligent injuring and given the highest sentence, which according to the Louisiana State Legislature’s website is 10 years. The crash left Jamal Jackson critically injured, who was 15 at the time.

The DA’s office said Marshall had a blood-alcohol level that was three times the legal limit when he crashed his vehicle into a home in New Orleans East.
