Mayor LaToya Cantrell on Tuesday asked a judge for permission to vacation in Iceland for a week as her federal corruption case plays out.
Cantrell requested the trip after a federal magistrate judge barred her last week from traveling internationally while the case is ongoing, unless she receives court permission.
Cantrell will make the trip with members of her family from Oct. 7 to Oct. 13, according to a court filing by her attorney, Eddie Castaing. The filing said Cantrell’s pretrial services officer and the U.S. Attorney’s Office raised no objections over the request…
