Man sentenced for shooting UNO student

NEW ORLEANS — An 18-year-old will spend the next fifty years in prison for an armed robbery that left a University of New Orleans student paralyzed.

A judge sentenced Cruz Matute after a jury convicted him on aggravated assault with a firearm and attempted armed robbery charges.
