NEW ORLEANS — What began as a police search for 12-year-old Bryan Vasquez has turned into a new mission to help a neighbor in need.
When officers drained a backyard pool in New Orleans East earlier this month, they didn’t find the missing boy — but they did discover a homeowner overwhelmed by her property and unable to manage it on her own.
