Tulane University seniors Sam Levine and Gabe Parnes don’t run your average food review account. Dressed in suits with flip flops, their page Forkin’ Around Nola has made a splash on New Orleans’ online food scene, complete with plenty of fork puns.
“We wanted to make it different, a little bit funny,” Levine said, “You know, fork this, fork that, using that play of words. I think people enjoy watching it a little bit more.”
In just one month since posting, the account has gained more than 12,000 followers across Instagram and TikTok, and has received an impressive 180,000 likes on TikTok, much to Levine and Parnes’ surprise.
“When we released our first video, all of the sudden it got a ton of traction,” Levine said. “We were out at some event a couple days later, standing at the bar, and random people came up to us asking, ‘Are you the Forkin’ Around guys?’ I was like, ‘There’s no way. Like, no way you’re coming up to us about that.’”…
