New Orleans bluesman Little Freddie King recovering in hospital after fall from bike

After his “two-wheel Cadillac let him down,” New Orleans bluesman Little Freddie King is currently in the hospital and recovering from a fall, his drummer and manager “Wacko” Wade Wright says.

King Sept. 19 was riding his new, electric bicycle near his home in Musicians’ Village when he had stopped to adjust the bike. After his foot accidentally hit the pedal, King was thrown off and injured his arm, hand and leg. King, who’s 85, was hurt, but he’s recovering and is expected to be able to go home in the near future, Wright says.

“He’s active and feisty,” Wright adds, but King will have to work with doctors to get strength back in his injured arm and hand before he’s back on stage…
