NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The man fatally shot in a Mid-City parking lot Tuesday (Sept. 30) was a father who was carjacked while picking up a child from daycare, New Orleans police said.
The victim’s identity and age have not been disclosed. He was shot to death around 5:13 p.m. in the parking lot of the Abeona House Child Discovery Center at 3401 Canal St.
New Orleans police Dept. Supt. Nicholas Gernon said at a Wednesday news conference that the man’s accused killer — identified as 21-year-old Raymond Wells — was himself found shot in the head minutes later Tuesday, inside the stolen vehicle which came to rest on Interstate 10 in Metairie near the Bonnabel exit…
