Driver booked on homicide charges after crashing truck stolen more than a year ago

Louisiana State Police have booked a man into jail after they say he flipped a stolen vehicle near Braithwaite, killing his passenger.

“The Plaquemines Parish crash… claimed the life of 56-year-old Ryan Riley of Gretna, and left the driver, 48-year-old Sherold Manuel, of Point a la Hache, with serious injuries,” Trooper Jacob Pucheu detailed in a news release.

He says troopers discovered that the GMC Manuel was driving had been stolen in New Orleans in August of 2024…
