HARVEY, La. (WVUE) – The man accused of killing a Brennan’s restaurant sous chef last week in Mid-City shot himself in the head minutes after the deadly carjacking and eventually died from the self-inflicted injury, the Jefferson Parish Coroner’s office said Monday (Oct. 6).
Jefferson Parish performed the autopsy on 21-year-old murder suspect Raymond Wells because he was found inside Carl Morgan’s stolen car last Tuesday in Metairie, rolling to a stop on Interstate 10 near the Bonnabel Street exit around 5:30 p.m.
New Orleans police linked Wells to the murder and carjacking of Morgan that occurred about 10-15 minutes earlier. The NOPD said Wells was found in “extremely grave condition” with the head wound. The department confirmed over the weekend that Wells died at University Medical Center on Friday at 1:06 a.m…
