Race held in Metairie cemetery to benefit animals

METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) — The eighth annual NOLA Dogs Race to the Rescue 5K for Animal Rescue was held in Lake Lawn Metairie Cemetery Sunday, Oct. 12.

According to their website, the race was intended to raise money for animals in need. Over 700 people showed up to run through the grounds of the historic cemetery to raise funds for no-kill animal shelters.

The event was hosted by Heaven’s Pets. Proceeds from the race will benefit Animal Rescue New Orleans, Take Paws Rescue, Trampled Rose Rescue and Rehab, Zeus’ Rescues and the Inner Pup.
