Letters: National Guard here, there and everywhere

Gov. Jeff Landry has asked for soldiers to be deployed to New Orleans, Shreveport, Baton Rouge and Alexandria to combat perceived crimes. He shouldn’t stop at those cities; our state is rife with places that glorify crime. Troopers should occupy Gibsland in Bienville Parish. The citizens there are so enamored of crime they have erected a museum celebrating Louisiana’s most violent criminal couple, Bonnie and Clyde. In Jefferson Parish, the town of Jean Lafitte celebrates the state’s first organized-crime boss, a smuggler, pirate and slave trader. Another smuggler and slave trader is honored with a display in the city of Opelousas, Jim Bowie.

Surely there are other Louisiana cities and towns harboring vicious miscreants that should be chased out by soldiers. Who knows what evil…..
