Gov. Jeff Landry has asked for soldiers to be deployed to New Orleans, Shreveport, Baton Rouge and Alexandria to combat perceived crimes. He shouldn’t stop at those cities; our state is rife with places that glorify crime. Troopers should occupy Gibsland in Bienville Parish. The citizens there are so enamored of crime they have erected a museum celebrating Louisiana’s most violent criminal couple, Bonnie and Clyde. In Jefferson Parish, the town of Jean Lafitte celebrates the state’s first organized-crime boss, a smuggler, pirate and slave trader. Another smuggler and slave trader is honored with a display in the city of Opelousas, Jim Bowie.
Surely there are other Louisiana cities and towns harboring vicious miscreants that should be chased out by soldiers. Who knows what evil…..
