After more than a year of controversy and debate, Jefferson Parish’s plan to build a $10.3 million brewpub has hit another hurdle over state funding for the adjacent parking garage. And now, Sen. Patrick Connick, R-Marrero, is asking the state attorney general to intervene.
Construction began a year ago on the two-story brewpub, along with a 148-space parking garage, linear park and other infrastructure improvements, which have been touted by officials as an economic driver for the West Bank. The brewpub, which will be operated by Port Orleans Brewery and Avo Taco, is expected to open next summer.
The total estimated cost of the project is now $34.2 million, according to the 2025-26 capital outlay request, up from the original $25 million…
