NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Fire Department is on the scene of a two-alarm in the St. Claude neighborhood Wednesday morning, Oct. 22.
Two-alarm fire at Harvey metal works facility under investigation
In a post on X (Twitter), at 5:19 a.m. firefighters were alerted of the fire in the 2600 block of N. Villere Street. NOFD officials arrived at 5:23 a.m. to find what was described as an Airbnb fully engulfed in flames.
Four occupants were able to escape the home before NOFD arrived.
Additionally, the fire extended to the Kids of Excellence Day Care Center in the 1400 block of Franklin Avenue, said NOFD officials, causing “severe damage.” A second alarm was called at 5:31 a.m.
An unoccupied building in the 2600 block of N. Villere Street was also involved and received moderate damage to the back wall and roof.
