Early Morning Blaze Damages Airbnb and Daycare in New Orleans as NOFD Responds Swiftly and No Injuries Are Reported

Early this morning, the New Orleans Fire Department responded to a two-alarm fire in the 2600 block of N. Villere St., where a single-story wood-framed Airbnb and a nearby daycare center suffered significant damage. According to a press release from the NOFD, firefighters arrived on the scene at 5:23 a.m., only four minutes after they were dispatched to the blaze that was first reported at 5:19 a.m.

Residents of the dwelling, which is occupied as an Airbnb at 2313 N. Villere St., managed to escape unharmed prior to the arrival of the fire department. While doing an early morning battle with the flames, firefighters faced visibility issues due to the close proximity of structures and limited light, according to information detailed by NOFD.

The “Kids of Excellence Day Care Center” at 1415 Franklin Ave., had not opened for the day when the fire extended to its attic, causing severe damage. Another nearby unoccupied dwelling, located at 2619 N. Villere, sustained moderate damage to its external wall and roof. The rapid response of the NOFD, which deployed forty-six personnel and seventeen vehicles, brought the fire under control by 7:06 a.m…
