Turn in unused prescriptions safely during Take Back Day, here is a list of locations

NEW ORLEANS — In the ongoing fight to keep drugs off America’s streets, law enforcement in Louisiana and across the United States are hosting a public event where old or expired prescription drugs can be safely turned in to authorities.

The Drug Enforcement Administration and nearly 4,000 law enforcement partners across the United States will host the 29th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The nationwide event encourages people to safely and anonymously dispose of unused, expired, or unnecessary prescription medications at collection sites. The goal is to help prevent prescription drug misuse and reduce accidental overdoses and poisonings…
