First Alert: Some rain Saturday ahead of storm threat early Sunday

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – A busy weekend of events collides with a busy weekend in weather, as a few rounds of rain and storms are possible.

A severe squall line is entering the western half of the state Saturday morning. Expect a general weakening trend of this line as it moves closer to New Orleans. Some rain will hold together and yield better downpour chances in the afternoon and evening.

The greater severe storm and rainfall risk comes early Sunday morning, as a new line of storms and heavy rain organizes over Louisiana. From about 3 a.m. to 10 a.m., we’ll be under that risk so expect a stormy start to Saints Sunday. But sunshine is probable by the afternoon…
