The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) has arrested William French, a 28-year-old from Memphis, Tennessee. The arrest is related to a homicide that occurred on September 28, 2025, in the 300 block of Loyola Avenue. Officers responded to reports of gunfire at about 12:22 a.m. They found a male victim, later identified as 23-year-old Joshua Bester, with gunshot wounds. Bester was taken to a local hospital and was pronounced dead.
After an investigation, NOPD detectives identified French as a suspect. They obtained a warrant for his arrest on a charge of second-degree murder.
