A set of aggressive lab monkeys originally believed to be infected with herpes, hepatitis C and COVID have been shot and “destroyed or killed,” according to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department.
One monkey remains on the loose.
Tulane University, which owned the monkeys, later confirmed in a statement that the monkeys “have not been exposed to any infectious agent.”
