NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – New Orleans Police Department Chief Anne Kirkpatrick said she will continue authorizing overtime despite facing budget cuts next year, vowing to prioritize community and officer safety over fiscal constraints.
“I’m going to do what I gotta do and I will suffer the consequences,” Kirkpatrick said. “That’s called choosing which hill you’re going to die on. I will die on that hill. Meaning, if I’m not the chief for you because of that stance, I’m not the chief for you.”
