Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy arrested, jailed on felony theft count, officials say

A deputy with the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office is accused of misusing funds collected from fellow deputies for commemorative badges, according to a sheriff’s office spokesperson Tuesday.

Desiree Kinorri Brown, 40, was booked into the Orleans Parish jail on Halloween on a count of felony theft between $5,000 and $25,000 and a count of malfeasance in office.

“These funds were intended to support a legitimate internal initiative, and the misuse of any portion of those proceeds represents a serious breach of public trust and professional ethics” Sheriff Susan Hutson said…
