For those ready to perform their civic duty in Orleans Parish, the Registrar of Voters is providing a helping hand with free parking for early voters. According to a recent announcement on the City of New Orleans website, voters can park without charge in designated spots around the City Hall area, ensuring convenience as they partake in the democratic process from Nov. 1 through Nov. 8, barring yesterday, Nov. 2 when early voting is not available.
The allocated free parking areas include the 400 and 500 blocks of La Salle Street and the 1300 block of Perdido Street with time limits enforced by local authorities; these parking spots are available daily from 8:30 a.m. till 6 p.m, making it easier for citizens to stop by before or after work, the Registrar’s Office, however, will observe a break from this routine on Sunday, when it closes its doors.
