As the New Orleans City Government continues to face a $160 million budget shortfall for the rest of 2025, the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s office is bracing for potential cuts. However, the district attorney says he’s been in touch with city leaders to make sure those cuts don’t impact criminal cases already in progress.
“I’m not sleeping very well, but I’m extremely confident,” Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams said to WWL’s Tommy Tucker. “I’m extremely confident in the mayor-elect and the city council to get us out of this hole for the rest of the year.”
