A convicted felon already jailed for a French Quarter stabbing now faces a second-degree murder count after DNA from a discarded ski mask tied him to the fatal carjacking of an Uber driver, according to police.
Brandon Joseph, 21, was rebooked at Orleans Justice Center, and Magistrate Commissioner Juana Lombard on Wednesday ordered him held without bond.
Joseph was jailed Oct. 15 on suspicion of aggravated second-degree battery. He allegedly stabbed a tap-dancing street performer who had beefed with Joseph’s brother, a Bourbon Street bucket drummer, on Aug. 16 near Bourbon and Bienville streets…
