New Orleans ‘transitioning’ to Healthy Homes enforcement, more than a year after first deadline

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The City of New Orleans is “transitioning” to enforcement of a program to protect renters, more than year after the program’s first deadline.

The New Orleans City Council created the program, called Healthy Homes, in 2022.

The program creates a set of minimum standards that rental units must meet. The program also creates retaliation protection for renters who make complaints to the city about rental conditions…
