Saints’ DeMario Davis hosts tailgate food drive to tackle New Orleans hunger

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Saints linebacker DeMario Davis and his wife, Tamela, are hosting a two-day food drive to help feed hungry families in New Orleans through their partnership with local foundations.

The couple kicked off their “Tailgate for a Cause” initiative Sunday (Nov. 23) in Lot 3 at the Superdome, collecting donations for Clover’s Food Pantry on Duplessis Street. Attendees who brought 10 or more food pantry donations received one-on-one time with Davis before the Saints-Falcons rivalry game.

“We came in, and we hugged this city, and the city hugged us right back. We love it, we love the people, we love the resilience of this city. This is home,” Tamela Davis said.

Party with purpose

The tailgate event featured hot plates from Tamela’s food truck and drinks from the bar. Davis described the menu offerings as “fan favorites.”…
