NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – City and state leaders will gather Monday evening (Dec. 1) for the official lighting ceremony of Second Line in the Sky, a temporary memorial and artistic lighting installation honoring victims of the January 1 tragedy.
The installation spans the first three blocks of Bourbon Street and features a glowing canopy of 822 prayer flags and illuminated Second Line-inspired motifs. Each prayer flag carries names, images and messages shared by the victims’ families.
