Killing after New Orleans second-line parade draws crowd safety concerns

The Original Lady & Men Buckjumpers had wrapped up their annual second-line parade on Sunday, disbanding after 4 p.m. at the Dew Drop Inn on LaSalle Street. About an hour later, New Orleans police officers began to disperse the lingering crowds when gunfire sent people running, witnesses said.

The shooting a few blocks away at Washington Avenue and Magnolia Street left a 26-year-old Baton Rouge woman bleeding from her neck as she died in a car, according to a gruesome hand-shot video that circulated Monday.

Authorities have not released her name…
