DHS announces arrests of six individuals with prior criminal convictions

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The Department of Homeland Security on Thursday (Dec. 4) announced the arrest of six individuals previously convicted or arrested on criminal charges, saying all are now in the United States illegally.

DHS released the list around 2 p.m., detailing each individual’s criminal history. The agency says Binh Van To, of Vietnam, was convicted of robbery, kidnapping, assault and homicide. Local arrest records in Orleans Parish could not be located.

Hung Ngoc Tran, also of Vietnam, was convicted of sexual assault, larceny and fondling a child, according to DHS. The agency says he was given a final order of removal in 2010. Orleans Parish records show he pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree rape and aggravated crimes against nature in 2000…
