New Orleans murder suspect captured in California more than 3 years later

NEW ORLEANS — The U.S. Marshals Service says a man wanted in a 2022 New Orleans homicide has been arrested in California after investigators tracked him across multiple states for more than three years.

According to the agency, members of the U.S. Marshals Service Eastern District of Louisiana New Orleans Task Force, working with the Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force, arrested 43-year-old William Powell on Dec. 8 in Morro Bay, California.

Powell is a suspect in the March 19, 2022, murder of Ciara Bullock in the 3000 block of South Saratoga Street. A second-degree murder warrant was issued the same day, and New Orleans police requested assistance from the Marshals in locating him…
