KENNER, La. (WVUE) – Since the start of Operation Catahoula Crunch nearly three weeks ago, sales at Alliance Supermarket in Kenner have plummeted, with its typical Hispanic clientele fearful of increased immigration enforcement.
Only a handful of staff are actually at the store to stock shelves, bake goods and take payment from the few customers still shopping at the Brazilian corner store.
The store’s co-owner — Cremilsa Caetano — recently was arrested by Border Patrol agents and is now in ICE detention more than four hours away from New Orleans…
