NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Fire Department responded to a fire on Fern Street on Monday, Dec. 15.
According to the NOFD, the fire occurred around 3:19 p.m. at a three-plex apartment building. Fire companies arrived at 3:26 p.m. and found smoke and fire coming from the back of the building.

All residents had safely evacuated prior to their arrival. Firefighters determined the fire involved two rooms of a second-floor apartment, with extension into the attic space. Due to the extent of the fire and to provide additional resources, a second alarm was requested.
