New Orleans City Council meets to override Cantrell budget veto

The New Orleans City Council meets today and will vote to override Mayor LaToya Cantrell’s veto of next year’s budget.

Mayor Cantrell says she vetoed the budget because she thought the measured cuts to deal with a revenue shortfall were irresponsible, but political analyst Clancy DuBos says it seems personal.

“You know, she just took down Moreno’s banners from Gallier Hall, connected to the inauguration,” said DuBos. “And the veto, it’s just a measure of spite and pettiness.”…
