Orleans Parish School Board delays decision on Leah Chase School closure

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The Orleans Parish School Board delayed a decision Thursday night on whether to close the Leah Chase School Uptown, as parents and teachers showed up in large numbers to fight to keep the school open.

Emotions ran high at the meeting as families and teachers advocated for New Orleans’ only district-run school to stay open. School board members said the school is pushing the public school system into a budget deficit.
