Louisiana PSC commissioner Davante Lewis responds after DWI summons

WEST BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Davante Lewis, an elected member of the Louisiana Public Service Commission, issued a public statement Monday responding to a DWI summons issued over the weekend.

According to Louisiana State Police, Lewis was stopped Saturday, Dec. 20, for driving without headlights. Troopers said Lewis was issued a summons for first-offense driving while intoxicated and headlights required.

Because the charge was a misdemeanor DWI first offense, Lewis was not booked into the West Baton Rouge Parish Jail and no mugshot is available. State Police said West Baton Rouge Parish does not accept bookings for misdemeanor first-offense DWI cases.
