NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Celebration of the Oaks has added a new feature this year called the Peppermint Post, where children can write letters to Santa Claus.
The event continues its tradition at City Park through New Year’s Eve. The Peppermint Post is located near the ladybug in the carousel garden area, where visitors can write their wishes and drop them in a special box.
Local children have submitted various holiday requests. Lily wrote asking for books and requested Santa donate to food banks or Toys for Tots. “We do get all the gifts, but they get none,” she wrote. “This is what I want for Christmas. That and books.”…
