Today, members of the Louisiana National Guard deployed to New Orleans, to add extra security for New Year’s Eve, the Sugar Bowl, and Mardi Gras.
There are about 350 soldiers in this deployment.
It comes as the city of New Orleans is asking the U.S. government for more resources during one of the busiest times of the year for tourism, while a new security plan for Bourbon Street is still in the works, coming up on one year since the attack that killed 14 people…
