NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department’s Gang Reduction and Intervention Partnership Unit arrested three suspects in a New Year’s Day operation.
According to officers, GRIP unit officers were on proactive patrol when they heard multiple gunshots and went to the 4400 block of Cessna Court to investigate. When they arrived, NOPD officers said they saw “several male subjects found to be armed with firearms.”
The suspects were found near a white SUV and fled the scene on foot, according to officers. Officers detained three of the suspects and found them in possession of two firearms and ammunition that matched the casings found at the scene. In addition to this, one suspect was in possession of Tapentadol pills.
