NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Fire Department responded to the New Orleans Fire Fighters Association’s claim that the department “wrongfully terminated” four firefighters.
IAFF Local 632 President Aaron Mischler disclosed that four have been on leave for less than a year. Two firefighters were reportedly injured while the other two were on leave for mental trauma.
The association said the NOFD’s higher-ups consider those firefighters “burdens” on the department and told them they have been “involuntarily retired.”
