Man arrested in connection with shooting that left another man, 4-year-old wounded: NOPD

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A man was arrested on Saturday, Jan. 3, in connection with a shooting that injured two people, including a 4-year-old child.

According to the New Orleans Police Department, the shooting occurred on Thursday, Jan. ,1 in the 7500 block of Lawrence Road. Officers found a 4-year-old suffering with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital and remains in critical condition. A man was shot as well and is now in stable condition.

NOPD officials said their investigation indicates the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute.

NOPD officers arrested 25-year-old Robert Torregano in connection with the incident. He was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center and faces two counts of attempted second-degree murder, six counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, one count of aggravated criminal damage to property and one count of illegal discharge of a firearm…
