Nearly 800 New Orleans Police Department Officers were promised a retention bonus, but the city of New Orleans doesn’t have the money.
The $10,000 bonus was part of an incentive offer for officers to join the NOPD, and promised under Mayor LaToya Cantrell’s administration, according to the Police Association of New Orleans.
