Moreno eschews inaugural ball, but other privately funded public events planned

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – New Orleans’ next mayor does not intend to end her first day in office in a ball gown.

Mayor-elect Helena Moreno said she is foregoing the traditional glitz of an inaugural ball after she takes office on Monday (Jan. 12), opting instead for a more communal slate of events starting this weekend.
