U.S. Border Patrol has made more than 560 arrests of undocumented immigrants in south Louisiana just over five weeks after launching operations here, a spokesperson for the agency said Friday.
The updated count comes as the status of Border Patrol’s local operation falls into uncertainty. The Associated Press reported Friday that federal agents were being pulled out of Louisiana to move to Minneapolis, where thousands of federal agents arrived this week to target Somali immigrants and an ICE officer fatally shot a woman with U.S. citizenship last Wednesday.
