NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Helena Moreno walked into St. Louis Cathedral surrounded by colleagues, family and supporters as part of a day-long celebration marking her inauguration as New Orleans mayor.
Outside the cathedral, 18-year French Quarter resident Wanda Joffrion watched the proceedings, unable to secure a ticket but determined not to miss the moment.
“It’s a new day dawning here in Orleans Parish. I’m excited and hoping that we can energize the city again,” Joffrion said.
