A Harvey man accused of chasing and shooting his estranged wife as well as the passerby who tried to help her has pleaded guilty in the case, according to Jefferson Parish court records.
Ernest Patton, 33, pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted second-degree murder and obstruction of justice Monday before Judge Shayna Beevers Morvant of the 24th Judicial District Court.
Patton and his 31-year-old wife separated in 2024 after three years of marriage. Jefferson Parish authorities said Patton had a history of domestic violence against her.
