NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Before January of 2022 was over, the New Orleans Police Department was already investigating four interstate shootings for that year, two of them fatal. A case from Jan. 15 of that year remains unsolved and is the focus of this latest Wheel of Justice report.
NOPD searching for suspect in bear spray battery case
According to police, around 3:00 that morning, they responded to Interstate 10 near the Esplanade exit, where they found two people who’d been shot inside a car. A 45-year-old woman was taken to a hospital with injuries. 52-year-old Mario Harris, Sr., died at the scene.
In March of that same year, police released images of a white Acura that they said was a vehicle of interest in the case, but it never resulted in any arrests or convictions.
