Man indicted in New Orleans homicide case

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — An Orleans Parish Grand Jury indicted Brandon Joseph and Angel Martinez on charges related to the death of 61-year-old Miguel Stemley Thursday, Jan. 15.

According to the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s office, Joseph is charged with second-degree murder, and Martinez is charged with accessory after the fact to second-degree murder for allegedly attempting to aid and conceal Joseph following the killing.

New Orleans Police Department officials said on Oct. 9, 2025, Stemley was reportedly involved in a struggle with an alleged carjacker, when the vehicle rolled and pinned him underneath.
