Tuesday, New Orleans Mayor Helena Moreno hosted the first meeting for the Infrastructure Coordination Committee, a group formed through executive order on Moreno’s first day in office.
The council is an attempt to deliver on her campaign promise of providing “Year-round Super Bowl-level services” across the entire city of New Orleans, not just tourist hubs.
The executive order defined the new council’s goal: “The purpose of the Council is to make recommendations to the Mayor for aligning and coordinating planning, operations, and project delivery among the DPW, SWBNO, the City’s capital projects and capital delivery functions, and relevant other public utilities and infrastructure partners to deliver coordinated, efficient, and high-quality infrastructure service year-round.”…
