Man who climbed Pearl River water tower wanted to watch sunset, sing songs

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – A man who climbed the Pearl River water tower last Tuesday and remained there for hours told police he just wanted to watch the sunset and sing songs.

The incident shut down the water tower and put the whole town under a boil water advisory, officials said.

Police presented an award to Sergeant Jason Walden and Detective Sarah Cranford for negotiating with the man to safely get him down…
