A Bourbon Street bartender accused of setting fire to nine cars and a duplex with four occupants in the Bywater neighborhood will be held without bond, an Orleans Parish magistrate commissioner ruled Friday afternoon.
Commissioner Joyce Sallah ordered Kyle James Thomsen, 35, jailed at a “dangerousness” hearing, following his arrest late Tuesday on four counts of aggravated arson of an inhabited dwelling and nine counts of simple arson.
Thomsen’s attorney argued at the hearing that Thomsen’s lack of criminal history made him a low risk. Sallah disagreed, siding with prosecutors in finding he poses “a danger to the community at large.”…
