Entergy Louisiana working to assess, restore power to thousands affected by extreme cold

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — As the extremely cold conditions are rolling across Louisiana, Entergy officials are reporting some power outages in select parishes.

Nyka Scott with Entergy Louisiana stated that the precipitation and ice in the northern region of the state have caused frozen roads and frozen trees that are falling down, blocking roads.

She adds that workers were able to assess the damage and start power restoration.

As of 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 26, about 1,500 customers are without power. As of 9:00 a.m., over 125,000 Louisiana residents are without power in temperatures as low as the 20s and 30s…
